Conservatives collaborate, liberals communicate. Collaboration leads to more results.
Why do I get the feeling that liberals/progressives model the world on school: teach, talk, listen, repeat, action not needed,
After all the NetRoots frissons are lovingly experienced, the fact is that the conservative have built a mighty infrastructure of of think tanks, media, influence peddling, and policy promotions far more focused and effective than liberal blogging.
I really wish someone would commission a groups of cultural anthropologists to study and report on liberals vs conservatives as tribes.
    P.S. I like NetRoots.

That’s actually already been done: Jonathan Haidt, The Righteous Mind

Samuel, thanks for the referral to the article by Jonathan Haidt. But he’s social psychologist and, ironically, more rational in his presentation than I would like. Anthropologists would describe the values, rituals and exact ways people earn a place and status in the tribe. The process of how intuition works, including the ways that people do rethink things, would be described. Being from an intuitional culture, where important things were communicated without words or explanations, and asking “Why” was discouraged in favor of just paying attention, shutting up, and absorbing what was going on around you, I value intuition. We were given a lot of guidance on how to observe, not how to demand explanations.
    “Why is the sky blue?”
“Keep observing how light works in many different circumstances, think about what you are seeing, how light transforms things, how rainbows work, then learn some art (about color) and science. Keep observing, contemplating, you’ll figure it out.” Then on walks there would be a lot of “Look, look at that. What do you see?” And just walking or sitting quietly. It became easy to pick up on what people were feeling.

Traditional American Values: Liberty. Property. Opportunity. Equality is not that important but can be discussed in light of these three values. For instance, poverty can be described as denying people their desire and right to make their contribution to society, not their right to anything specific. That people have roadblocks put in the way of opportunity. The roadblocks can stir a conversation, reflection, an intuition of what people of different backgrounds are feeling. That the liberty of the powerful can limit the liberty of others. This has worked for me in talking to right wing people. But sometimes racism can really gets in the way. When racism creeps in I just tell stories, positive and negative, about my own experiences with people from different racial backgrounds. The stories get listened to. Sermons do not get listened to.

Fellas:  this Netroots business is the MOST self-serving, communist, hand-ringing nonsense invented by the liberal mind!
“Heroes” like George Nee, Weldin Shitehouse, and Bob Walsh are the new predators on American culture.  They seek out the weak and devour them.  That would be the taxpayers of R.I. who are now, thank GOD, are awakening just before geniuses like you all drive us off the cliff.
RI’s tax and spend mentality is killing us, and helping surrounding states.

Look around the country.  See the states doing well?  Conservative/fiscal responsible.

See the states doing poorly?  Liberal/fiscal iresponsible.

Rhode Island is the epicenter for “liberals in purgatory”…we’re committing suicide listening to you.  We will wake up and stop voting democRAT.

Our kids leave home since there are NO JOBS HERE.  (Funny how Netboots didn’t have a “panel” on that one, huh?)

Since you kind folks prefer to abort children rather than raise them, you miss the thrill and joy of it all, only to see them move away when the pleasures of parenting meet their apex.  That’s because of liberal KEYNESIAN policies, culture warfare, hate-the-rich nonsense.  Class warfare.  Social stratification situations!

NEE and his thugs prefer to bully (you guys are conflicted on this-it’s ok if labor does it, others…not so much!) and THREATEN opponents.  Read the “Union Stewards’ Prayer” for verification.  When this works on our gutless politicians, taxes go up and recvenues go down.  Funny how that works!  People vote with their feet, wallets, ballots.

NETROOTS WHINING is such an embarrassment to our society.  How dare you sleep out on the streets and think anyone who has half a brain gives a whit!

Wisconsin and the elections of 2010 mean anything to youz?  People repel against your thinking.  We dislike this something for nothing thinking regardless of what 25 cent words you use.

      We’re at the breaking point.

We get 1/3 of our state budget from the federal government.  1/3….begs 2 questions:

What makes us so special the others 49 states have to pay our bills?

What happens when they wake up to it?

      Sickness needs medication.
