Before leadership of RI’s legislative and executive branches jumped on board, there were the hardworking activists of Democracy Matters and Common Cause of Rhode Island working all fall to put together this legislation, designed to pull best practices from other states who have introduced similar reforms. Providence, R.I. – Rhode Island Governor Lincoln D. Chafee will join with House Speaker Gordon Fox, Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed, Senate President Pro Tempore Juan Pichardo, Representative Chris Blazejewski, and Common Cause Rhode Island Executive Director John Marion tomorrow to announce significant campaign finance disclosure legislation that will be introduced in the current General Assembly session.
