Things heated up when Democratic candidate Nirva LaFortune took Independent candidate Christopher Reynolds to task for his use of insensitive, racially charged language.

Less than two weeks after the un-debate, four of the five candidates who qualified for the ballot in the race to be the Ward 3 city councilor from Providence once again took the stage, this time to answer questions, not just listen to the concerns of residents.

Deep divisions of race and class among the Ward 3 neighborhoods were noted. It was obvious that Ward 3 is more a collection of neighborhoods than a unified Ward.
