Can Cool Moose’s ghost posthumously swing RI governor’s election?
By Bob Plain on March 6, 2018
It’s deja vu all over again in the race to be the next governor of Rhode Island. By Steve Ahlquist on July 25, 2017

Raimondo’s governor’s conference confronted over inaction on climate change
By Steve Ahlquist on July 15, 2017
Governor Raimondo’s gesture is meaningless and empty unless it is backed up with concrete action. Governor Raimondo cannot simultaneously support the Paris Agreement and support Invenergy’s plan to build a carbon-emitting, diesel oil, and fracked gas power plant in Burrillville.

Invenergy power plant facing water problems
By Steve Ahlquist on August 8, 2016
Even if both Harrisville and Pascoag deny Invenergy their water, it doesn’t necessarily put an end to the company’s plans. Water could be imported from over state lines, and of course there is always the option used by Burrillville’s existing power plant, Ocean State Power. They seem to be trucking in the water from a nearby superfund site.

By Steve Ahlquist on May 27, 2016

Siting Board acting on Invenergy’s schedule for Burrillville gas plant
By Steve Ahlquist on January 29, 2016
EFSB Chair Margaret Curran said that because of the “tight time schedule” it’s critical that the board get advisory opinions “as soon as possible,” raising the question as to why the board feels the need to rush Invenergy’s application process.
The EFSB also denied all but two motions that were brought before it today.
