    Buddy Bob,
Poor Oak Bluffs! The only beach left off your comment list yet the one in some ways closest to the spirit of RI Future!
Oak Bluffs: originally an egalitarian and more inclusive sister community to others on Martha’s Vineyard, Oak Bluffs was the first place on the Island to welcome and be favored by African Americans, who among other things have a distinguished history in the region’s whaling community going back a few hundred years. Also the home of a National Historic landmark ring-pull carousel (like Watch Hill), unique 19th century architectural homes in a circle known as the Doll Houses, and great fudge! Finally, provided orca-shot scenery of terrified tourists fleeing the shark along its beachfront (down to East Chop) for Jaws!

“Provincetown, Massachusetts The queer capital of New England!”
Really, Bob? Not a particularly progressive sounding statement. And when were you last there? Thriving LGBT community AND lots of “regular” folks all enjoying the beautiful beaches, shops and restaurants. You must have written that one when you were tired… :)

Having worked security at a gay nightclub in my younger days and having heard some lines that made even me blush, I would tend to think that this particular line wouldn’t be offensive to that community. But then again, maybe it’s only acceptable in that community from other members.
