Valarie Lawson announced today that she is a candidate for Rhode Island Senate District 14, East Providence. She will be running against incumbent Daniel DaPonte, who has served in that position since 1999.

Chief Resiliency Officer Shawn O’Roarke held the first of a series of ten Resiliency Roundtables at the Save the Bay Campus, drawing a crowd of just over 50 people interested in finding solutions to the effects of climate change.

Officers of the East Providence PD arrived and told the protesters that they were prohibited from protesting on the side of the state highway or on private Cumulus Radio property, to which one of the protesters replied, “That’s racism!”
