“He (Brien) said his politics are closely aligned with ALEC’s legislative agenda, but that he will not do its bidding.”
Hold on a minute, he just joined their national board of directors and he won’t do their bidding?  Who is this clown trying to kid? Who takes a directorship with no intention of becoming fully engaged? Time for the people of Woonsocket to start rethinking their options when it comes to that seat in the legislature. Here’s a guy who won’t support taxing the rich at a higher rate than the ridiculously low rate they pay now, even though the city he represents is sliding towards bankruptcy and the revenue raised ($132M) could be spent to help troubled communities.
He’s also cozy with Jerry Martineau, a convicted criminal, and does the bidding of CVS and G-Tech, two companies fighting against any tax changes in the state. C’mon Woonsocket, you deserve better than this hack who is obviously out only for himself.

One could learn more about say, NAMBLA, without one having to actually join NAMBLA. Someone should let Ms. Baldelli-Hunt in on this secret.

Also, is there a decoder-ring for the different flavors of “Democrat” in this state. Moderate-Democrat, Conservative-Democrat, Rightwing-Democrat, Woonsocket-Democrat… it is rather confusing.

The way to tell if someone belongs to an organization is to ask them, not the organization.  Organizations have an interest in exaggerating their membership, and some give in to the temptation.

I’ve been burnt this way before, and I’m sure many others have, too.  Board membership, obviously, is a different deal.

Wouldn’t any self respecting Democrat human being be more concerned with distancing themselves from Jon Brien and Lisa Hunt than from some organization like ALEC?  I am just asking.

Looks like Rep MacBeth has some stiff competition for DINO of the year!
