"We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” - Elie Weisel

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." - Desmond Tutu

"There comes a time when neutrality and laying low become dishonorable. If you’re not in revolt, you’re in cahoots. When this period and your name are mentioned, decades hence, your grandkids will look away in shame." - David Brooks

For a bunch of highly paid strategists with a solid supply of gray matter, this seems like a half-baked and ill-conceived move, eh?

Unfortunately, I have the stomach-churning feeling that Invenergy has already paid off everyone they need to and everything that either side does is irrelevant. They could probably come out and tell the absolute truth about how New England has no need for the power they would produce, how that part of Burrillville already exceeds federal noise limits (thanks to a CNG station that no one wanted there) and the plant would further put them out of compliance, how their power plants have a history of elevating cancer rates everywhere they build them, how they contaminate the air, the land, and the water supply, and it won’t matter.
