"We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” - Elie Weisel

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." - Desmond Tutu

"There comes a time when neutrality and laying low become dishonorable. If you’re not in revolt, you’re in cahoots. When this period and your name are mentioned, decades hence, your grandkids will look away in shame." - David Brooks

The PROCESS itself remains just swirling about out in the ether because it is simply, on a day to day, event to event, hearing to hearing basis, MADE UP.

The PROCESS was never meant to actually be used by citizens in RI in any fully productive way. It exists for the convenience and benefit of the EFSB members, Invenergy, Invenergy’s lawyers, The Governor’s BFFs in the building trades, the Building Trades and their lawyers, and legislators who can carry the right tune.

I’m remembering more than one power plant proponent with come kind of apparent clout stating that full public participation was somehow undemocratic because WE THE PEOPLE simply didn’t have the expertise to weigh in on such complicated matters as air/water/ destruction of habitat/destruction of infrastructure/destruction of open land/noise pollution/ light pollution/ toxic emissions/ energy auctions/threats to aquifers/…..How long a list would you like. UNDEMOCRATIC.

The DONE DEAL still ain’t done because were not quite as dumb as you think.
