“Among other things, they say crime went up across the board in Rhode Island while the candidate for CD1 was head of the State Police.”

And what else does it say in that dossier about crime? You want to do it or should I?

“It also paints the picture of a far-right Republican…”
Really? It also references his willingness to work for bipartisan solutions. No mention of that though, eh?

“the Rhode Island Democratic Party said Doherty will work hard to repeal health care reform”

Yeah, they can say that all they want, but it’s not true. The DCCC document even contradicts that RIDP statement.

Along with the RISP, there are 38 individual city and town police departments across the State of Rhode Island compromised of approximate 2500 sworn officers according to the Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire. Of those approximately 2500 sworn, only 228 are state troopers. Given the breadth of their responsibilities, any suggestion that the former Colonel is responsible for a rise in crime is a ludicrous talking point.

“Did you know he was on the board of directors for Beacon Mutual when the insurance company was mired in a scandal for giving price breaks to choice companies? (Update: Marc Comtois says he remembers Doherty being brought in by his friend Gov. Don Carcieri after the scandal broke)”

    He remembers? Fact check much?
I guess that’s why it comes with a disclaimer:
“By accepting this report, you are accepting responsibility for all information and analysis included. Therefore, it is your responsibility to verify all claims against the original documentation before you make use of it.

Sorry Marc, I’m not following you. What link? My apologies if you thought the comment was directed at you. My comments were made as a result of reading the so called ‘Doherty Book’ and actually remembering why he was put on the board. You’re not exactly the only one that ‘remembered’ those events and if Bob didn’t, he should have done a little fact checking before he spewed it out on a blog. Google is a wonderful tool.

DogDiesel: My apologies, then, and just because I remembered shouldn’t imply that I’m the only one!  My memory prompted me to use that same wonderful tool and provide further evidence at the hyperlink attached to Bob’s statement that ” Marc Comtois says he remembers” (ie;  www.anchorrising.com/barnacles/014579.html ).  Hope that clears it up.

    “Doherty = Carcieri”

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!  Good one.

Just like voting for McCain was the same thing as “Four more years of Bush”, right? I’m surprised that Romney isn’t “a return to the policies of Bush”.

Mike is right. Uncle Don Carcieri is completely running the Doherty campaign. Uncle Don is the puppet master and Doherty is the puppet.

I thought Bush was the puppet master for Carcieri.

So the ‘Doherty Book’ it turns out is flop with it’s falsehoods and fantasy timelines of events that have nothing to do with the subject of the book…Doherty and of course David Cicilline is an indefensible liar so the next political tactic is to connect Doherty at the hip with the most recently vilified Republican…Don Carcieri. With all your Democrat supporters abandoning the SS Cicilline maybe you should have thought to find a new progressive candidate. You know… someone with integrity that all Democrats could support. Good luck with that.

Doherty is clearly connected at the hip to Carcieri. Carcieri brought in Doherty and has been grooming him for years. Carcieri and his people are completely running Doherty’s campaign. Carcieri even headlines Doherty’s events.
