Clearly, the whole fawning over and worship of all things corporate is not just a function of #45 and his crazy cabal.Corporations are now, right here in Little Rhody, viewed as more worthy and more valuable than human beings by our elected leaders. It’s right in front of our eyes.

It’s disappointing again and again that RI Progressive Democrats has such poor transportation priorities. How can the group justify saying it supports cutting the car tax as “reform” when economic justice groups like Economic Progress RI have spoken so clearly on why it’s a bad goal?

And again and again we hear that it would be okay to “reform” the car tax if we found replacement revenue– but if we had a progressive source of replacement revenue, why would our goal with that revenue be subsidizing cars? Why not increase the Earned Income Tax Credit? Why not created a Guaranteed Minimum Income? Why not push a Single Payer Healthcare bill? Why not improve transit?

Rhode Island will be doomed so long as “progressive” groups fail to understand the transportation blunders we make every year in the budget. Disappointed.
