    A correction: you mentioned the organization GLAAD, which is the abbreviation for the national organization Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. But the organization that signed on to this petition is GLAD (GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders), which is a New England wide legal organization. People have been confusing the abbreviations for many years. :)
