Yay for the CLF! And though I could quibble with how much attention this issue has gotten while other land use issues slipped by (e.g. Citizens moving much of its workforce out of the metro area to the woods of Johnston, Tiverton’s “gaming” devlopment) we better win this one. Not only because it is such a bad idea to sacrifice so much for a new fossil fuel plant, but with all the good work done by the CLF, the Burrillville Land Trust, and allies, with all the local and regional opposition they have organized – if that does not succeed it will undermine remaining notions of democracy, add to the destructive “the fix is in” sentiment, and demoralize many considering other bad projects. So, on this one the need is to fight on!
