When Senator Sheldon Whitehouse decided to vote in favor of several key Donald Trump nominations, I’m sure he did not expect to have to answer to hundreds of his angry constituents two days in a row.

One thing became very clear, very quickly: People wanted Whitehouse to actively push back against Trump, and they do not expect compromise or any more “Yes” votes on Trump’s cabinet picks.

I think progressives need to resist Mattiello just like we need to resist Trump. We keep winning seats in primaries. We fight like holy hell to get in, and then once we get there we seem to waver. We can not waver.
