    Bob, did you deliberately not mention Senator Harold Metts role in getting the id law passed?  I recall reading he was convinced there rrlly was voter fraud in the south Providence areas of his district.
    That said, as a poll worker, I don;t see how the law can either prevent fraud or be an obstacle to voting by any legitimate voter, especially as at the least there is always a provisional vote as a backup.  But it does build confidence in the integrity of elections, a good thing, and may speed up lines a bit since it is easier to find names quickly in the poll book from a printed ID than from the prononciation of the names.
    So I think this is regarded as a significant issue by those more interested in a politically useful talking point than in a substantive issue.
