With the events of Charlottesville and the death of Heather Hyer still smoldering in our memories, hundreds of Rhode Islanders representing dozens of labor, political and advocacy groups came together to celebrate the accomplishments of organized labor and to condemn racism, white supremacy and the rise of fascism.

“An attack on immigrants is an attack on all working people,” said Kelley, a business manager with IUPAT. “Whether you live on the west coast, or the east coast, or in the center of our country, if you attack one working person, regardless of immigration status, you attack all of us.”

The residents of Burrillville, conscripted as actors in this this production, are changing the script even as the play is being performed. The production is going awry, and getting it back on course may prove to be impossible.
